RJD leader among two killed in Hajipur

HAJIPUR: One RJD leader Chandrama Singh and a Dalit woman Manju Devi were killed late night on Wednesday in Vaishali district by some unknown miscreants.
According to police sources, Manju Devi was gang-raped a week ago at Raghopur by two local influential persons and the FIR was lodged after the intervention of SDPO J Choudhary in the local police station.Sources said the deceased had made a decision to identify the culprits.
The Raghopur police found Manju''s body on Thursday morning. She was strangulated by miscreants. Tension prevails in the area after the discovery of her body. Political leaders of the area have made up their mind to raise the issue of gang-rape and murder of the Dalit woman in CM Rabri Devi''s constituency. Confirming the murder, SP HN Deva said no arrest has been made so far in this connection.
An active RJD worker Chandrama Singh was also shot dead by three motorcycle-borne criminals at Mahnar on Wednesday night when he was on way to Mahnar from Patna.
Police admitted that he was shot dead from close range and the miscreants fled away towards diara side taking advantage of darkness.
